Early stage consumer music/social gaming startup is looking for a Senior Level Flex UI engineer to join our growing team. The company is recently funded by some excellent angels and is working towards an exciting public launch of the product. We have developed a really exciting music platform and are looking to extend it in some seriously cool ways. The product is aimed at kids and has a business model (go figure).
So come work in a fast paced startup environment where the team wants to create something special and have a lot of fun doing it. Not a shop for the faint of heart or hobby coder, but for those with serious skills and definite passion. You will have a chance to develop highly visible, game changing audio tools and rich interactive applications for kids. A passion for music and/or kids’ digital entertainment is a real plus here. Based in NYC, we are seeking engineers to join their team. Our ideal candidates have proficient expertise in their particular development areas with experience in video communication using Flash Media Server, audio development, and/or e-commerce production environment and interested in a hands-on position. We are seeking a Senior Flex UI Engineer for the following role:
Responsibilities:
o Develop and maintenance of Flex software for platform UI
o Work with product manager, UI consultant and others to design new UI features
o Work with data/server engineers on data communication protocols between UI and server-side systems
o Maintenance of existing Flex codebase
Requirements:
o Fluent Adobe Flex / AS3
o Strong understanding of object-oriented design
o Strong understanding of building custom components
o Strong understanding of Flash Player memory management
o Strong MVC framework knowledge and experience, especially Pure MVC, Cairngorm
o Strong grasp of design concept, usability, and user experience.
o 6+ years overall professional development, building commercial, open source and/or business software
o Social Gaming or Digital Media application development
o Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
o Strong communication skills
Pluses:
o User Interface design skills and aesthetic sensibilities
o Data presentation/visualization design flair
o Web development experience using AJAX
o Online video or audio communication experience
o Agile UX project development experience
Education
Engineering/Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
